Just too good

Listen and Respond, Lorde, Music

Ever hear a song you like so much that it ends up on all your playlists, and some of them twice? At first I wasn’t a big fan of Lorde, but she is really growing on me.

Comment below with your suggestions for music, or a song you simply can’t get out of your head!

PS have a great day, friends!

Listen & Respond

Listen and Respond, Mat Kearney, Music, now playing

An artist who seems to never grow old or out of style (and one of my favorites) is Mat Kearney. Happy-go-lucky tunes meet deep topics and personal anecdotes to make for one successful artist. A new song Kearney has out, “Just Kids”, is just what his fans need to prepare for his album that is to come out in February of 2015.

A big thank you to the new followers! I really appreciate the support and your taste in music! Now is your time to share! Comment below to answer this question:

What song would you use to describe your life to a complete stranger?

On a Day

Indie, Music

Not sure what it’s like where you are.. but here in Indiana it’s cold (like always). But, seeing as it’s the Christmas season and the time I’m spending with my family is a great change of pace from senior year of college, here’s a peppy song that in no way reflects today’s weather.

PS cheers!

Just getting started

first post, Music

First things first, I’m not a professional blogger by any means. I’m a college senior who just happens to like music. (a rarity) And I’d like to thank my parents for subjecting me to country music for 18 years, Relient K for their outlet from country, and sites like Noisetrade and Spotify, who help me research great stuff. And you, because somehow you have found my very new blog. Cool beans.

I hope you stick around for a while — this site is an experiment — as I am attempting to open a community for music suggestions as well as a place to share what I’ve been listening to. (because a person can only tweet so many song lyrics)

If you like what you see, awesome! Hang out, listen, send me suggestions, and then repeat!

To hold anyone who reads this over until this site really launches, I’ve provided a list of 5 (any more would be too long) of my favorite songs right now:

1. St. Patrick // Pvris

2. Tongues of Fire // John Mark McMillan

3. Paris in June // Johnnyswim

4. The house // Air Traffic Controller

5. Stereo // Mike Mains and the Branches

Here’s one of my favorite bands: Mike Mains and the Branches. Mike here works with his best friend and his wife to create some killer poppunk tunes. He brings up serious questions through clever lines and starts thought provoking conversations with a sassy attitude. Plus he’s a lot of fun, and were probably the best live show I have seen. Ever.
